The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has urged Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh to direct Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly.
The Chief Minister had to prove his strength in the Assembly following reports of rebellion within the ruling All India N R Congress and also due to uncertainty about the continued support of the lone Independent to the Rangasamy led AINRC government, secretary of the Puducherry unit of AIADMK, A. Anbalagan, said in a memorandumon Thursday.

AIADMK parliamentary board reconstituted

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday reconstituted her party's parliamentary board.
With Ms. Jayalalithaa as its chairperson, the board will have six members, including E. Madhusudanan, party presidium chairman and O. Panneerselvam, treasurer.
Other members are Visalakshi Nedunchezhiyan, S. Karuppasamy, S.P.M Syed Khan and A. Justin Selvaraj.
The parliamentary board chooses the party's candidates for elections.
A by-election will take place next month to fill up a Rajya Sabha vacancy caused by the resignation of K.V. Ramalingam (AIADMK), who successfully contested the Assembly election and is now Public Works Minister.
