34,000 to get free rice
ARIYALUR: A total of 34,251 persons, identified as the poorest among the poor, will get 35 kg of free rice with effect from June.
In a press release issued here on Tuesday, T.K. Ponnusamy, Collector, said that the district administration identified the eligible persons following the Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's order in this regard. The district had got an allotment of 1,198 tonnes of rice for distribution to these eligible persons, he said.
