A group of AIADMK advocates has written to the President, Pratibha Patil, seeking the dismissal of Textiles Minister Dayanidhi Maran from the Union Cabinet in view of the allegations against him

In their letter, S.Muthuraj and 74 others said it was not possible to investigate the allegations against the Minister including his role in spectrum allocation and leasing his telephone line without dismissing him.
The Prime Minister should not allow Mr.Maran to continue as Minister.
The advocates have requested the President to exercise her discretionary power as per Article 75 (2) of the Constitution (Other provisions as to Ministers).
