Tell Rangasamy to prove majority: AIADMK

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has urged Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh to direct Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly.
The Chief Minister had to prove his strength in the Assembly following reports of rebellion within the ruling All India N R Congress and also due to uncertainty about the continued support of the lone Independent to the Rangasamy led AINRC government, secretary of the Puducherry unit of AIADMK, A. Anbalagan, said in a memorandumon Thursday.

Independent MLA V. M.C. Sivakumar and AINRC member Sabapathy who were “promised” Ministerial berths “boycotted” the swearing-in ceremony on June 8.
This has raised doubts on the “majority and the stability” of the government.
Taking this instability into account, the Chief Minister was trying to appoint three nominated members and already the names have been submitted to the Lieutenant Governor for Union Home Ministry's approval, it said.
