தமிழகத்தில் அமெரிக்க நிறுவனங்கள் முதலீடு செய்ய பெரும் வாய்ப்பு உள்ளதாக முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதாவிடம் அமெரிக்க வெளியுறவுத் துறை அமைச்சர் ஹிலாரி கிளிண்டன் தெரிவித்தார்.

சென்னைக்கு வருகை தந்த ஹிலாரி கிளிண்டன்,  கோட்டையில் முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதாவ இன்று மாலை சந்தித்தார்.

அமெரிக்க வெளியுறவு மந்திரி ஹிலாரி கிளிண்டன் 3 நாள் அரசு முறை பயணமாக இந்தியா வந்துள்ளார். டெல்லியில் நேற்று அவர் பிரதமர் மன்மோகன் சிங், காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் சோனியாகாந்தி, வெளியுறவுத்துறை அமைச்சர் எஸ்.எம்.கிருஷ்ணா, தேசிய பாதுகாப்பு ஆலோசகர் சிவசங்கரமேனன் ஆகியோரை சந்தித்து பேசினார்.

9 இடங்களில் புதிய கலை, அறிவியல் அரசு கல்லூரிகள் – ஜெ இன்று தொடங்கி வைக்கிறார்

ஸ்ரீரங்கம், நெம்மேலி உள்ளிட்ட 9 இடங்களில் புதிய கலை, அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகளை முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதா இன்று (திங்கட்கிழமை) தொடங்கி வைக்கிறார்.

தமிழகத்தில், 18 அரசு மகளிர் கல்லூரிகள் உள்பட 62 அரசு கல்லூரிகள் உள்ளன. சென்னையில் மட்டும் காயிதே மில்லத் மகளிர் கல்லூரி, ராணிமேரி மகளிர் கல்லூரி, பாரதி மகளிர் கல்லூரி ஆகிய 3 அரசு மகளிர் கல்லூரிகள் உள்ளன. இந்த நிலையில், 9 இடங்களில் கலை, அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகள் இன்று (திங்கட்கிழமை) தொடங்கப்படுகின்றன.
இவை, அரசு கல்லூரிகளாக இல்லாமல் பல்கலைக்கழக உறுப்பு கல்லூரிகளாக செயல்படும் என்று அரசு அறிவித்துள்ளது. தமிழ்நாட்டில் ஏற்கனவே, அரசு கல்லூரிகளாக அல்லாமல், பல்கலைக்கழக உறுப்பு கல்லூரிகள் 19 உள்ளன என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.
இந்த நிலையில், முதலமைச்சரின் தொகுதியான ஸ்ரீரங்கம் உட்பட 9 இடங்களில் புதிய கலை, அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகளை முதலமைச்சர் ஜெயலலிதா இன்று (திங்கட்கிழமை) கோட்டையில் இருந்தபடியே வீடியோ கான்பரன்சிங் மூலம் தொடங்கிவைக்கிறார்.
இந்த கல்லூரிகள் அரசு கல்லூரிகளாக அல்லாமல், அந்தந்த பல்கலைக்கழக உறுப்பு கல்லூரிகளாக இவை தொடங்கி வைக்கப்படுகின்றன. இந்த கல்லூரிகளுக்கான செலவுகளை அந்தந்த பல்கலைக்கழகங்களே ஏற்கும்.
கல்லூரி தொடங்கப்படும் இடங்களும், அதற்கான பல்கலைக்கழகங்களும் (அடைப்புக்குறிக்குள்) வருமாறு:

 இந்தியாவில் முதன்முறையாக சென்னையில் உலக செஸ் போட்டி நடத்த முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா ஒப்புதல் அளித்துள்ளார்.

தமிழக அரசு வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்தி குறிப்பில் கூறி இருப்பதாவது:

முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதாவை இன்று தலைமைச் செயலகத்தில் உலக சதுரங்க கூட்டமைப்பின் தலைவர் கிர்சன் இலயும்ழினோவ் சந்தித்தார். அப்போது 2012-ம் ஆண்டு ஏப்ரல், மே மாதத்தில் நடைபெறவுள்ள உலக சதுரங்க வாகையர் பட்டத்திற்கான போட்டியை சென்னையில் நடத்தும்படி வேண்டுகோள் விடுத்தார்.

இதுவரை இந்தியாவில் சதுரங்கப் போட்டிகளில் கிராண்ட் மாஸ்டர் பட்டம் பெற்ற 24 பேரில் 10 பேர் தமிழகத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் ஆவர். உலக சதுரங்கத்தில் இந்தியா 7-வது இடத்தைப் பெற்றுள்ளது.

AIADMK executive meeting postponed

The AIADMK executive meeting slated for July 20 has been postponed to July 30, according to a release from party general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

The meeting will be held at the party headquarters and presidium chairman E. Madhusoodhanan will chair the meeting.

Rs. 76.33 crore sanctioned

Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has sanctioned Rs. 76.33 crore for improving basic amenities in 1,059 students' hostels for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and carrying out works of maintenance, repairs and creating additional infrastructure in these hostels.

In the State, there are 1,294 students' hostels for SC/STs.

The move follows the review of the Chief Minister of the condition of the hostels, according to an official release issued on Tuesday. — Special Correspondent.

சென்னை: தமிழகத்தில் ஆட்சிபீடத்தில் அமர்ந்த ஒன்றரை மாதத்தில் தமிழக அமைச்சரவையில் 2 வது முறையாக இன்று மாற்றம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. அமோக ஆதரவுடன் பெரும்பான்மை பலத்துடன் தமிழகத்தில் ஆட்சியை பிடித்து அ.தி.மு.க., பொதுசெயலர் ஜெ., முதல்வரானார். கடந்த 15 ம் தேதி பொறுப்பேற்ற இவர் தனது கீழ் இயங்கும் 34 அமைச்சர்கள் கொண்ட பட்டியலை வெளியிட்டார். இதில் பெரும்பான்மையானவர்கள் புதியவர்களே ஆவர் . கடந்த 27 ம்தேதி அமைச்சர்கள் இலாகாக்களை மாற்றியும், மேலும் புதிதாக முகம்மது ஜான் என்பவருக்கும் வாய்ப்பு கொடுத்தார்.

Cable TV operators want State to ensure nationalisation does not affect them

While welcoming the Tamil Nadu government's plan to nationalise the cable TV network at the top level and looking forward to the prospect of Arasu Cable Corporation playing the role of Multi System Operator and distributor, cable operators urge the government to leave their trade untouched.

The State executive meeting of the Thamizhaga Cable TV Urimayalargal Sangam convened here on Thursday passed a resolution to this effect, among others, that reflect their thinking on how the nationalisation of the cable TV network should be executed.

Jayalalithaa meets PM

New Delhi:  Everybody loves a winner, nowhere more so than in politics. On her first visit to Delhi after sweeping the Tamil Nadu elections, Jayalalithaa received the political equivalent of a standing, with Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, the BJP's Ravi Shankar Prasad and D Raja of the Left all visiting her at Tamil Nadu Bhawan in the Capital. 

When she left Tamil Nadu House to meet the Prime Minister, it was directly in an SPG car. Apart from those given SPG protection, even Cabinet ministers change cars at the gates of the PM's 7 RCR residence.

After that meeting with the Prime Minister, Jayalalithaa arrived straight for a press conference, glowing in maroon, smile firmly in place. The PM, she said had held out a lot of hope for Central assistance for Tamil Nadu. The good humour was evident when she quipped
