முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா திருச்சி மேற்குத் தொகுதியில் இன்று சூறாவளிப் பிரசாரம் செய்யவுள்ளார்.

திருச்சி மேற்குத் தொகுதி இடைத் தேர்தலில் அதிமுக சார்பில் பரஞ்சோதி போட்டியிடுகிறார். இவரை ஆதரித்து இன்று ஜெயலலிதா பிரசாரம் மேற்கொள்கிறார். இத்தொகுதியில் திமுக சார்பில், நில அபகரிப்பு வழக்குகளில் கைது செய்யப்பட்டு சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள முன்னாள் அமைச்சர் கே.என்.நேரு களமிறக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதால் போட்டி கடுமையாக உள்ளது. இதனால் அதிமுகவினர் படு தீவிரமாக பணியாற்றி வருகின்றனர்.

இது குறித்து தமிழக அரசின் சிறப்பு திட்ட செயலாக்கத்துறை செயலாளர் சிவதாஸ் மீனா வெளியிட்டுள்ள செய்திக் குறிப்பில், அரசு மற்றும் அரசு உதவி பெறும் பள்ளிகளில் படிக்கும் பிளஸ்1, பிளஸ்2 மாணவர்களுக்கும், அரசு மற்றும் உதவி பெறும் கலை அறிவியல், கல்லூரிகள், என்ஜினீயரிங் கல்லூரிகள் மற்றும் பாலிடெக்னிக் கல்லூரிகளில் படிக்கும் மாணவர்களின்

நடிகர் ரவிச்சந்திரன் மறைவு – ஜெயலலிதா இரங்கல்

உடல்நம் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட நிலையில் மருத்துவமனையில் சிகிச்சை பெற்றுவந்த நடிகர் ரவிச்சந்திரன் காலமானார். அவரது மறைவுக்கு முதல்வர் ஜெயலலிதா இரங்கல் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.

Cable TV operators want State to ensure nationalisation does not affect them

While welcoming the Tamil Nadu government's plan to nationalise the cable TV network at the top level and looking forward to the prospect of Arasu Cable Corporation playing the role of Multi System Operator and distributor, cable operators urge the government to leave their trade untouched.

The State executive meeting of the Thamizhaga Cable TV Urimayalargal Sangam convened here on Thursday passed a resolution to this effect, among others, that reflect their thinking on how the nationalisation of the cable TV network should be executed.

Ajit Singh meets Jayalalithaa

 

Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh today called on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the Secretariat here.

Speaking to reporters after the 20-minute meeting, Mr. Singh said he had met the AIADMK leader to congratulate her on her party’s victory in the April 13 Assembly polls, as he was not in the country at the time the results were declared.

Lauding the Chief Minister for delivering governance in an “efficient and effective manner”, he also appreciated the various welfare measures initiated by Ms. Jayalalithaa, who stormed to power after trouncing archrival DMK.

On strains between DMK and Congress over the 2G spectrum allocation scam and its possible implications at national and state-level politics, Mr. Singh said changes were possible but said it would take some time.

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has urged Lieutenant Governor Iqbal Singh to direct Chief Minister N. Rangasamy to prove his majority on the floor of the Assembly.

The Chief Minister had to prove his strength in the Assembly following reports of rebellion within the ruling All India N R Congress and also due to uncertainty about the continued support of the lone Independent to the Rangasamy led AINRC government, secretary of the Puducherry unit of AIADMK, A. Anbalagan, said in a memorandumon Thursday.

AIADMK parliamentary board reconstituted

All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary Jayalalithaa on Friday reconstituted her party's parliamentary board.

With Ms. Jayalalithaa as its chairperson, the board will have six members, including E. Madhusudanan, party presidium chairman and O. Panneerselvam, treasurer.

Other members are Visalakshi Nedunchezhiyan, S. Karuppasamy, S.P.M Syed Khan and A. Justin Selvaraj.

The parliamentary board chooses the party's candidates for elections.

A by-election will take place next month to fill up a Rajya Sabha vacancy caused by the resignation of K.V. Ramalingam (AIADMK), who successfully contested the Assembly election and is now Public Works Minister.

No chance for DMK to revive Legislative Council: Jayalalithaa

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) would not return to power in Tamil Nadu again and would not get another opportunity to seek to revive the Legislative Council, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said in the Assembly on Tuesday.

Replying to a debate on a resolution rescinding an earlier decision of the Assembly calling for the revival of the Upper House of the State legislature, Ms. Jayalalithaa said, “As far as I know, the DMK is the only party which wants to revive the Council. As they are unlikely to return to power, there is no chance that there will be another attempt to bring back the Council.”

“The sun has set and this sun will not rise again,” she said, in a reference to the ‘Rising Sun', the DMK's election symbol.

Jayalalithaa launches new initiatives, scraps old schemes

Outlining the new AIADMK government's policies and programmes, Governor Surjit Singh Barnala presented in the Tamil Nadu Assembly on Friday a mix of fresh initiatives and welfare measures and the withdrawal of some of the schemes of the previous DMK regime.

In his maiden address to the 14th Assembly, the Governor announced the government's decision to institute a Commission of Inquiry into alleged irregularities in the construction of the new Secretariat-Assembly complex. It would nationalise private cable television operations without affecting the interest of the last-mile local cable operators and launch free distribution of laptops to students, and electric fans, mixies and wet grinders to women on September 15.

The government would give top priority to make the State power surplus by reforming the energy sector. Efforts would be made for improving efficiency in generation, transmission and distribution. Power theft would be curbed.

சென்னை கோட்டையில் நிருபர்களிடம் இன்று அவர் கூறியதாவது: தமிழக சட்டப் பேரவையில் 233 எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் பதவி ஏற்று உள்ளார்கள். ஒரு இடம் காலியாக உள்ளது. நியமன உறுப்பினர் நியக்கப்பட்டதும் அவர் பதவி ஏற்றுக் கொள்வார்.
