ADI DRAVIDAR & TRIBAL WELFARE
- The scale of finance for taking up self-employment ventures through TAHDCO has been stepped up to Rs.7.50 lakhs with 30 per cent subsidy or Rs.2.25 lakhs, whichever is less.
- 50% or Rs.2.50 lakhs as subsidy to SHGs for economic development activities through TAHDCO.
- Counselling Centres started to encourage Adi Dravida entrepreneurs.
- Increase of monthly feeding charges for SC/ST school and college hostel students from Rs.450/- to Rs.650/- and for college students from Rs.650/- to 750/-.
- Upgradation of 10 Middle Schools as High Schools and 10 High Schools as Higher Secondary Schools.
- A special grant of Rs.39 crores to provide toilet facilities in 779 Adi Dravidar Welfare schools.
- Allocation of Rs.43 crores for distribution of free bicycles to SC/ST students.
- Allocation of Rs.246 crores for Tribal Welfare.
- A special grant of Rs.10.76 crores for the development of Vulnerable Tribal Groups.
- Rs.13.26 crores as Share Capital Assistance to TAHDCO.
- Certificates to 43 students who completed film industry training at NFDC recommended through TAHDCO.
- Government to bear the compulsory fees including the Tuition fees fixed for SC/ST/SCC students admitted in self-financing colleges.
- Increase of Award amount to Rs.6,000 for SC students who secure highest marks in 12th Standard Public examination at District level.
- Increase of Award amount for the first three positions to Rs.2,000, Rs.1,000 and Rs.500 respectively for those who secure highest marks in 10th Standard Public examination at District level.
- Increase of Award amount under Chief Minister’s Merit Award, from Rs.1,500/- to Rs.3,000/- per year.
- Increase of Award amount under Annal Gandhi memorial award, for the first year from Rs.1,500/- to Rs.2,000/- and for the next five years from Rs.1,000/- to Rs.1,500/-.
- Increase of special scholarship amount to students who pursue degree courses from Rs.6,500/- to Rs.7,500/- and for the Post Graduate and Professional courses students Rs.7,000/- to Rs.8,000/-.
- In the Government Public Examinations of 10th and 12th, each Headmaster bringing out 95% passes is paid Rs.10,000/- and subject teachers who bring out 100% success in their subjects are awarded Rs.5,000/-.
- Under the special incentive scheme, the incentive for converted Christian students who do not stay in the Adi Dravidar Hostels has been raised from the Rs.65/- to Rs.125/- range to the Rs.100/- to Rs.175/- range. For those students who stay in the hostels, the incentive has been raised from the Rs.115/- to Rs.250/- range to the Rs.175/- to Rs.350/- range.
- Increase of miscellaneous charges for soap, oil etc., to school students, from Rs.25 to Rs.50/- and for college students from Rs.35/- to Rs.75/-.
- 1,500 additional seats in Adi Dravidar / Tribal Hostels.
- Additional allocation of Rs.41.26 crores to reduce dropouts and encourage girl students to continue education under Girls Education Incentive Scheme.
- Allocation of Rs.25 crores under Special State Allowance for skill development and entrepreneurship development programme for 25,000 youth.
- Allocation of Rs.370.27 crores for the year 2011-2012 & Rs.390.78 crores for the year 2012-2013 for the Educational Scholarship of 10th standard and above.
- Allocation of Rs.50 crores under Comprehensive Tribal Development programme.
- Own buildings for 93 SC/ST student’s hostels running in private rented buildings at a cost of estimate of Rs.68.15 crores.
- Allocation of Rs.83 crores for upgradation of essential infrastructure facilities in 1,080 students hostels.
- Increase of incentive to Rs.10 lakhs under Select Village Scheme for eradication of untouchability in each district.
- Allocation of Rs.5.28 crores for the provision of Two-Tier Steel cots to college hostel students.
- Increase of amount to Rs.50,000 for candidates who pass UPSC Preliminary Exam of the Central Government.
- Separate state-level awards for Adi Dravidar, Scheduled Tribes and Adi Dravidars converted to Christianity who are studying 12th standard and secure the first 3 places. The first prize given is Rs.50,000/-, the second Rs.30,000/- and the third Rs.20,000/-.
- Increase of cash award to writers to Rs.40,000/- to SC/ST/SCC writers and to one non-SC writer for best Literary work.
- 25 new Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare hostels at the cost of Rs.3.82 crores.
- For protecting the healthy environment of students of 582 hostels and GTR schools, supply of Napkin burners at the cost of Rs.1.46 crores.
- Allocation of Rs.30 crores for renovation / special repairs in
200 Adi Dravidar Welfare primary schools.
Schemes for 2013-2014
- Rs.7,042 crores allocated for Adi Dravida Welfare. This is an increase of Rs.15.29 crores.
- Rs.489.48 crores allotted for Welfare of Scheduled Tribes.
- Rs.479.87 crores allotted for Educational assistance. This is a 10.62% increase.
- Rs.56.34 crores for Bicycles at no cost.
- New buildings for 44 hostels at a cost of Rs.35.04 crores.
